It's your home

The Government is launching a campaign in the hope to encourage struggling homeowners to ‘get help’ and take control of their finances. They will run adverts across Britain to enforce their message, ‘even if you are behind with your mortgage payments, it’s never too late to take control’.

The housing Minister John Healey is determined to give homeowners access to practical and impartial advice so they can sort out their situation. He stated that since April 2008 more than 300,000 people have received government backed help and advice with their mortgage payments.

They hope to see a drop in repossessions by offering;

  • Free debt advice
  • Help with mortgage payments
  • On the day legal advice in court

Although there is still a great deal of pressure on homeowners in this current financial situation the government is trying to ensure homeowners feel confident about asking for help. If you’re a anxious homeowner visit www.direct.gov.uk/mortgagehelp or call the National Debt line 0808 808 4000
