Host an event on Saturday 28 May 2022

You can support physically disabled ex-Service personnel by taking part in The BIG Plant and Bake Sale in aid of Care for Veterans on Saturday 28 May 2022.  Simply host a sale (big or small!) of plants and/or baked goods from your garden or another suitable venue. We will help you to promote your event by providing resources and listing it on our website. How it helps… The proceeds from the event will go to Care for Veterans, which provides care and rehabilitation to ex-Service personnel from the RAF, Army, Royal Navy and auxiliary services. The charity must raise over £1.5 million each year to continue to provide its specialist care to veterans with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or a degenerative neurological condition, such as multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Parkinson’s.

Host an event of any size, it all helps! A few spare plants? You could take part by a leaving a few plants and an honesty/collection box outside for your neighbours. If you don’t have a front garden or anywhere suitable, then maybe you know someone that does? Make a couple of cakes. You could let a few friends/neighbours know you are taking part and take some orders for local delivery of their favourite sweet treat! A bit of help from family and friends. Ask your friends and family to put their skills to good use and fill a table on a driveway at the best location for people walking past. Why not sign up on behalf of a group? Ask any green-fingered gardeners you know to pop a few extra seeds in now for plants to be ready for the 28 May. Ask your culinary-skilled colleagues to put the date in their diary to make their favourite or most popular baked goods.
